Frequently Asked Questions
How is my grade calculated?
Your grade is calculated based on the total number of questions and the number of incorrect answers:
- Number Correct = Total Questions - Wrong Answers
- Percentage = (Number Correct / Total Questions) x 100
- Letter Grade is determined based on a standard grading scale.

The calculator uses a standard US grading scale:
- 97% and above = A+
- 93% - 96% = A
- 90% - 92% = A-
- 87% - 89% = B+
- 83% - 86% = B
- 80% - 82% = B-

What if I enter zero or leave fields blank?
If no values are entered, or if the total number of questions is zero, the results will remain hidden. This prevents incorrect calculations.
Can I use different grading scales?
Currently, this calculator uses a fixed grading scale. In the future, we may add options to customize grading cutoffs.
Why would I need the grade breakdown?
The grade breakdown helps visualize how each number of correct answers corresponds to a percentage and letter grade. This can be useful for teachers, students, and parents.
